Heres a responsive call to worship from Reformed Worship. It was written for use on Palm Sunday, but might also be appropriate for a service on John 9 (when Jesus heals the man born blind), or Luke 4:14-29 (where Jesus interprets scripture in the synagogue and the crowd tries to kill him), or John 1:10-11 (He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.) You may well think of other scriptural examples.
Call to Worship: Recognizing Jesus
When God appeared on earth in the person of Jesus,
most of the world did not recognize him
and therefore did not worship him.
most of the world did not recognize him
and therefore did not worship him.
Today we ask for faith that will open our eyes
to see Jesus for who he is,
that we might worship him in truth.
People of God, behold your God!
We open our eyes to see his glory.
We open our ears to hear his wisdom.
to see Jesus for who he is,
that we might worship him in truth.
People of God, behold your God!
We open our eyes to see his glory.
We open our ears to hear his wisdom.
We open our hands to offer him gifts.
We open our mouths to sing his praise.
We open our hearts to offer him our love.
He is Lord!
We open our mouths to sing his praise.
We open our hearts to offer him our love.
He is Lord!
